The Vic City Council Master Plan. Incorporating health into urban planning

The Vic Master Plan (POUM) aimed to frame all urban planning actions from a perspective of health. The concept of a “healthy city” was incorporated as a planning criteria, making residents’ health a goal to be achieved and understanding health as quality of life and not merely the absence of illness. The project has found continuity through EU’s URBACT project “Healthy Cities”.
