The AMB waste management model is based on the selective collection and correct treatment of each fraction. Of the waste, 100% is treated with the aim of recycling up to 50% of it through separation by citizens and recovery at the plants. The AMB provides the metropolis with the necessary treatment facilities for this.
The AMB manages four Ecoparks for sustainable waste treatment. These facilities use cutting-edge technology, are committed to innovation and are energy self-sufficient. In addition, the AMB manages 67 waste disposal facilities or green points. Of the waste, 100% is treated and 94.5% is reused, recycled or recovered.
