Low Emissions Zone

The Low Emissions Zone is a project that is  jointly promoted by AMB, the Barcelona City Council and other affected metropolitan city councils and the Catalan Government. It has the objective to reduce the use of those most contaminating private vehicles in the city’s ring roads, in an area that spans 95 km2 and that encompasses the whole municipal district of Barcelona (except for Zona Franca, Vallvidrera, Tibidabo and les Planes), the Sant Adrià del Besòs and Hospitalet de Llobregat townships and parts of Esplugues de Llobregat and Cornellà de Llobregat.

These restrictions are permanent starting on January 1st 2020. This is one of the main municipal measured implemented in order to foster an improved air quality and to guarantee the right to health in the city.
